National Accreditation for Commitment to Excellence

Greenbrier Medical Arts Pharmacy in Lewisburg; Greenbrier Medical Arts Pharmacy EXPRESS in Fairlea; Alderman’s Pharmacy in White Sulphur Springs; Union Pharmacy in Union; and Western Greenbrier Pharmacy in Rupert, collectively known as Valley Independent Pharmacies, received national accreditation in 2008 illustrating their commitment to excellence in patient care. The Award of Accreditation from the Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation is achieved only when pharmacies demonstrate the highest level of quality practices in their business operations and patient care techniques. Each of these community pharmacies earned the three-year accreditation after completing a comprehensive application and site inspection focused on patient safety, solid billing practices, customer service, ethics, patient education and a commitment to excellence at all levels. Accreditation by the Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation also assures Medicare and other payers that the highest levels of quality are practiced within all areas of the company.

“These pharmacies are committed to setting a positive example for ethics, integrity and customer care in the pharmacy industry and beyond. Review of best practices and successful management of quality systems has taken our companies to new levels of care and safety,” said Mary Page Nemcik, director of marketing for the Valley Independent Pharmacy Group. “This award also reinforces that our dedication to business improvements and commitment to excellence is ongoing,” said Nemcik.

Founded in 2005, the Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation seeks to continuously set quality standards on behalf of pharmacies, the durable medical equipment industry and business owners.
