PEIA Face to Face Program
Amy Jasperse, chief pharmacist at Union Pharmacy, received certification from the West Virginia Public Employees Insurance Agency (PEIA) to implement PEIA’s Face to Face Diabetes Program. Training for the Face to Face Program consisted of more than 27 hours of home study combined with hands-on learning and a written exam.
The Face to Face Diabetes Program is specifically designed for patients who have PEIA insurance and diabetes. With active participation and program compliance, PEIA will waive co-payments for diabetes related prescription drugs and lab services. In addition to free diabetes medications, participants will also receive health information, free glucose meters and training, meal planning tips, and on-going support. Greenbrier Medical Arts Pharmacy and Union Pharmacy are approved providers for the PEIA Face to Face Diabetes Program. Jasperse will serve patients at both locations.
